Free Kid’s Basketball Camp

The Florida Mako’s will be having a free basketball camp for kids on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th from 8:00-12:00 at the Newberry Sports Complex. The camp started on Monday but the people that were supposed to update the info sent it to the wrong blog. We apologize for the inconvenience. Hope your kids can attend tomorrow and Friday! It’s free! Yay! Go Mako’s!

Cowards are Bullies

The Florida Mako’s basketball team will be talking at local Gainesville elementary schools about Bullying and How to Prevent and Stop this Vicious Cycle. As a professional team, we understand the importance of teamwork and everyone working together for a greater purpose. We hope to influence children to not only chase their dreams of a sports career or another career but also inspire them to be the best people they can be and help the community.

1st ABA Florida Makos Basketball Tryout Over

Thank you to all the basketball players that came to the tryout ready to work! We appreciate it when we have serious athletes with good attitudes. Many times players get chosen because they had an exceptionally positive attitude towards the coach, staff, and other basketball players. Good thing to keep in mind for future tryouts! Thank you everyone for working hard today!

ESPN Radio Show

The ABA Florida Makos Radio Show will be on ESPN Radio next week! Listen for us! We’ll be talking about tryouts, events, games, sponsors, etc. It should be pretty interesting and exciting! The basketball season begins in December!

ABA City of Legends Golf Tournaments

ABA will be putting together City of Legends Golf Tournaments, where former NBA, NFL, and MLB stars come and play golf in a tournament against one another and local golfers in the area. Participants will be charged only $100.00 to play golf against some of their favorite sports stars. Not a bad way to spend the day…golfing with legends! There will be a small fee of $20.00 to watch and get autographs. Dates coming soon!

ABA Talent Shows in Gainesville, Florida

ABA has teamed up with Universal Studios and Fontana Records to have talent shows for each ABA team. The main prize is a record deal with Universal Studios and Fontana Records valued at 1 million dollars! Don’t miss this opportunity to make it big in the music industry! ABA Concerts in Gainesville, Florida

ABA has teamed up with Universal Studios to be able to present ABA Concerts to the ABA Teams! The ABA Florida Makos will be announcing the first concert artist and date very soon! So be on the lookout for date and person that will be singing! It will be someone famous so it should be lots of fun! We will be bringing more artists to Gainesville, Florida to perform throughout the summer and rest of the year!
