More than Just a Game!

The ABA (American Basketball Association) professional minor league basketball franchise has taken professional basketball to a whole new level! With new teams, new owners, new business partners and sponsors, the ABA has taken new, fresh ideas and family-friendly, cost-efficient games and events by storm. The ABA League believes in helping serious basketball players improve their playing ability and sharpen their skills, getting those players contracts with even bigger leagues in the U.S.A. or overseas, and/or eventually getting them to the ultimate Holy Grail…the much sought after NBA. We strive to treat our players, teams, etc. as if we were the actual NBA franchise as far as being professional, doing things for the community, and finally just playing some amazing basketball for the fans. We love basketball on and off the court, professional and non-professional, sports, and most importantly…the fans and community that supports the team. We have the great honor of not only sharing some great basketball games with the community of Gainesville and the cities that will be hosting our away games this season but also the many exciting events that are planned for this year. The first event will be a Pink Floyd Laser Light Show at the O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Florida September 17th 7:00-10:30. The tickets will be sold at the O’Connell Center and on our sites soon! The second event will be a City of Legends Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament at the Gainesville Golf and Country Club September 23rd. Times and costs to play or watch the celebrities play in the tournament will be posted soon! In addition, we will be having ABA Concerts with well-known music artists througout the year in Gainesville, Florida as well as Celebrity Luncheons, Celebrity Poker Tournaments, Celebrity Golf Tournaments, Shootouts, Special Event Nights, and ABA Talent Search Shows (20-25 contestants will be chosen for each show, then those will compete, the winners from each show will compete to win a RECORD DEAL W/UNIVERSAL STUDIOS/FONTANA DISTRIBUTION/GLOBAL MUSIC GROUP…VALUED AT 1 MILLION DOLLARS$$$) Check back often for event dates and times, tryout dates and times, etc. Our first ABA Florida Mako’s Pups Cheer Tryouts are coming up fast August 14th at the Newberry Sports Complex in Gainesville, Florida 10:00-2:00 $75.00 registration fee. The ABA Florida Mako’s 2nd Basketball Tryout will be August 28th in Miami, Florida. Check back for location and time. The registration fee for the Miami tryout is $75.00 before the 15th of August and $100.00 after the 15th. Register for both tryouts at http://www.abamakos.com. Our website will be changed soon. ABA Florida Mako’s Pups Cheer Tryouts

The Cheer Tryouts will be August 14th at the Newberry Sports Complex in Gainesville, Florida from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It would be wise to come a little early to fill out some paperwork and ask any questions before the tryout. Also, if you have not registered at http://www.abamakos.com, please either register there and pay with paypal or money order or bring $75.00 to the tryout. If you are paying at the tryout, please come early to register. Please wear appropriate shorts, t-shirt, and athletic shoes to the tryout and have hair pulled back somehow. Please bring your driver’s license with you and a drink if you do not like water. There are water fountains, vending machines, and restrooms at the facility. Other than that, please come prepared to workout, cheer, and have fun! You will be learning a short cheer, short dance routine, and doing some jumps. Remember to smile, have a positive attitude, and have fun. Thank you.
